In her search for the true origins of a haunting melody, the filmmaker Adela Peeva travels to Turkey, Greece, Macedonia, Albania, Bosnia, Serbia and Bulgaria. Perhaps a metaphor for the complexities of the Balkans, the documentary is simultaneously lovely, funny, interesting and sometimes concerning. It is an ethnomusicological film masterpiece, rewarded several times.
